RALEIGH, N.C. (December 28, 2011) – North Carolina’s largest independent cardiovascular practice will move one of its larger clinics to a nearby location on Blue Ridge Road effective January 3, 2012.
WHV – Wake Heart & Vascular will relocate its clinical operations to the Medical Office Building at 2800 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 550. The 7,000-square-foot clinic will replace WHV’s facility on Lake Boone Trail. The telephone number, 919-787-5380, will not change.
“Advances in cardiology happen regularly, so we continuously think about how to provide the most current treatments and equipment,” said Dee Darkes, chief operating officer of WHV. “The new clinic positions us to do that for some time to come.”
The new clinic offices are located in a UNC Health Care facility, Rex Hospital. WHV signed an affiliation arrangement with UNC Health Care in 2011, giving it access to UNC’s cardiovascular research and clinical expertise.
WHV was formed about 26 years ago. Its physicians see patients at most hospitals in the region, including Rex, WakeMed, Johnston Health, Granville Health and Wayne Memorial.
The group’s doctors are recognized nationally in a number of areas, including a less-invasive catheterization procedure; stroke care; and prevention of sudden cardiac death in women. Three WHV physicians recently were cited as 2011-12 Best Doctors in America in Business North Carolina, a statewide magazine.
